"network security" ve "routing" konularinda seminer verecektir.
Seminerin basligi, icerigi ve Profesor Medhi'nin biografisi
asagidadir. Konusmanin yapilacagi salonun bilgisi Mühendislik
Fakultesi girisindeki Guvenlige birakilacaktir.

Global Environment for Network Innovations (GENI) and Next
Generation Networking

Abstract:

Global Environment for Network Innovations (GENI, http://www.geni. net)
is an experimental facility for experimenting next generation
networking functionalities that has been brewing in the USA in the
recent years. In this talk, we will present an overview of GENI from
a researcher's perspective, and next generation networking, and
emerging research problems. In addition, we will discuss GreatPlains
GENI (Gp-ENI), a preliminary effort that encompasses four universities
in the Great Plains region of the USA (Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska).

Bio:

Deep Medhi is Professor of Computer Networking in the Department of
Computer Science & Electrical Engineering at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), USA. He received his B.Sc. in Mathematics
from Cotton College, Gauhati University (1981), India, M.Sc. in
Mathematics from the University of Delhi, India (1983). He then received
his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, USA, in 1985 and 1987, respectively. Prior to joining
UMKC in 1989, he was a member of the technical staff at AT&T Bell
Laboratories. He has been an invited visiting professor at the Technical
University of Denmark and a visiting research fellow at Lund University,
Sweden. He is a Fulbright senior specialist.

His research interests are in resilient multi-layer network design,
network routing and design, and next-generation network architectures.
He has published over eighty papers, and is co-author of the books,
"Routing, Flow, and Capacity Design in Communication and Computer
Networks" (2004) and "Network Routing: Algorithms, Protocols, and
Architectures" (2007), both published by Morgan Kaufmann Publishers (an
imprint of Elsevier).

He's currently the chair of the Internet Technical Committee--- a joint
committee of the IEEE Communications Society and the Internet Society.
He has served on many IEEE conference program committees. He is a senior
technical editor of Journal of Network and Systems Management (JNSM), an
Associate Editor of Telecommunication Systems, an Associate Technical
Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine, and an associate editor of IEEE
Communications Surveys & Tutorials.
